On-line engine blitz tourney July

My information must be wrong, I thought puppetmaster consists of 7 RPI with 7 different engines on it.

That's version 1.

Version 2 consists of 2 quad core rpi-2s. Version 3 is a 6-core-with-hyperthreading i7.

It is a nice experiment, but I don't expect that it will play stronger than the average strength of the engines involved in the voting process.

Well, it could. E.g. run 4 Stockfish and 3 Fairy-Max, and Fairy-Max would not be able to pull the Elo down as it would always be outvoted.

It is not obvious it could play better than the best engine, though. But perhaps it could do that too, if many others are sufficiently close in strength.

Well you can also do it the other way around and use 4 Fairy-Max and 3 Stockfish and the whole combination will play at the strength of Fairy-Max.
Of course this is nonsense, and you want to take a mix of many different engines.
On average this mix will never play better as the best engine, but occasionally it might happen.
Like I said it is a nice experiment but a waste of hardware resources.
