Well, I unpacked the Nilatac zip file, started WinBoard 4.8.0, opened the Engine -> Load 1st Engine dialog, used the Browse button for the .exe file to point out nilatac.exe, and pressed OK. The only weird thing is that this popped up a console window (with no text in it), something that normal engines do not. But I could then play a Suicide game against it. Even when I did not first select Suicide in WinBoard. (But then WinBoard of course started complaining when Nilatac put its King in check.) When I switched WinBoard to Suicide I could play a complete game. Nilatac seemed to use about 260MB of memory, although Windows had reserved 533MB for it (according to the resource manager).

So for me it seemed to work without problems.
