On-line engine blitz tourney June

Post by hgm »

The monthly on-line engine blitz tourney for June will take place on:

Saturday June 21, 3pm Boston time (21:00 Amsterdam time)

To connect:

winboard -zp -ics -icshost winboard.nl -icshelper timeseal -fcp ENGINE.exe -fd ENGINEFOLDER -autoKibitz

(for UCI engines, add -fUCI)

This is on the same ICS as last month's tourney, which is a different one from that used before (which suffered a head crash of its HD). So if you did not participate last time, chances are that you need to apply for an account first.

I cannot connect to winboard.nl (port 5000) - am getting "connection refused" from winboard.

OK, this should be solved now.

Seems they rebooted the VPS for migrating it to another platform, and the ICS does not start automatically on booting. So it was not running at all.

The http server apparently did start automatically, but it started the wrong one. (Apache in stead of lighttpd.)

Arasan lost connection near the end, and had to be forfeited from the tourney for the last two rounds, after forfeiting the 7th round on time and not moving in the 8th round (presumably because the connection was already lost, without the ICS knowing it).

Texel was unbeatable today, and on that basis I'm pretty happy with a clear second place for Gaviota :D Maybe Miguel will turn up with a seagull dance..

In a way Miguel may have helped texel to win, because this development version of texel was using Gaviota tablebases.

Thanks, HG. Not a bad result for 4-core Myrddin. Maybe someday I'll actually release it.

I had internet issues - still debugging it but it looks like the Wireless router died.
