About all studies are solved by SF with correct score in a couple of seconds.

Only one study is badly evaluated by Stockfish (version syzygy_14020920) :
[d]1k6/pN2pp2/r3r3/2R4B/Rp6/p7/7p/7K w - -
Na5 is winning but SF evaluated as draw
Latest Stockfish solves this---if I disable null move pruning:

Code: Select all

The critical position for Stockfish is that it

4: Pervakov,O - White to play and win, 1.pl Team Championship of Russia 2012

Wait, even in this position, he has difficulty to quickly find the right move.
It's still disturbing ...

The current dev version of Stockfish solves this instantly:

Code: Select all

info depth 10 seldepth 17 score mate 6 nodes 75016 nps 355526 time 211 multipv 1 pv c8c7 b7b8 h5f3 a5d5 f3d5 b6c6 c7c6 a7a5 c6a6 b3b2 a6a8
Not sure what's wrong with yours.

can't be solved by the latest. A bit of testing suggests that the following commit is "to blame":

https://github.com/mcostalba/Stockfish/ ... a3d8579fa9

[EDIT] The latest version can solve the second position, just not quickly:

Code: Select all

Are you sure that you blame the right commit?
It should be a non functional change that changes nothing.

Well, it's actually this one:

https://github.com/mcostalba/Stockfish/ ... 6a33ecf4a8

but Marco needed some help getting his code correct, so I linked to final version of the commit.

Try yourself. The code prior to this commit solves the problem more quickly:

Code: Select all
