now one can optionally choose to let GUI handle standard UCI options.

Already much better Mathias, thanks.Matthias Gemuh wrote: - graphics
If I can provide you a little suggestion (bear with me), it is to remove the grey from the black pieces totally and just use white for the "reflections". White gives more the impression of 3D and if you change color (from black) the grey is completely out of place.
Apart this, however, very good work already.

If I'm currently using ChessGUI 0.239, can I just switch the ChessGUI.exe?Matthias Gemuh wrote:Hi Graham,Graham Banks wrote:Thanks Matthias for your ongoing efforts with ChessGUI.Matthias Gemuh wrote:ChessGUI 0.240b

In theory, yes.Graham Banks wrote: If I'm currently using ChessGUI 0.239, can I just switch the ChessGUI.exe?
It is, however, safer to finish current tournament first.

Re: ChessGUI 0.240b
I've discovered two bugs with this version.
1. If you chose to manage the threads/cores of the engines the settings changes don't work. To make them work you have to go to the engines settings and just click on OK (you have to do nothing else, the threads have being rightly set in the engines options, it is only that if you don't do this passage the options seems to get not registered).
I don't know if I'm missing something here (naturally I'm setting the option to manage cores).
2. Changing the colors of the boards do nothing.

Re: ChessGUI 0.240b
No, white is fine, it is the grey shadows (that then are not shadows but a graphic representation of the reflections on the pieces, and for this, if you use a graphic style as those of the fonts it is better to have them white, as for example making a drawing in indian ink, as with comics) of black that are not so good IMO. Much better simply to leave them white.Matthias Gemuh wrote: Should white get whiter ?
But I understand that in ChessGUI those grey reflections/shadows are actually the color of the black pieces (that you can change), the black being the border (so to speak) and unchangeable. I never understood why you did make it that way, in effect; it is the black part that should be the color, not the other way around.
