Is there additional benefit to do a restricted analysis on a give set of root moves rather than using multip pv ? I guess even with the former you still have to use multipv otherwise the scores of the moves will be the same except for the first one. Also the gui should be told which set of moves to work on which makes things even more uglier.

As to the session file , it seems a little strange that such kind of work is offloaded to the GUI. I never used it but if the leaf node is not on the main line, it will not have any effect. And if it is the score is already known , so why analyze ? If that have to be supported, I think an option to print tree using tree mapping or something else is also good.
