I had another idea (not yet implemented) that could get more mileage out of grouping engines. In the Tournament Options dialog, where it makes sense to select multiple engines, we could let the group expand in the combobox as:

# GROUP NAME
o Add All
engine1
engine2
...
engineN

Clicking an engine would add it to the tourney-participants list, clicking the group name would make you leave the group without adding a participant, but clicking "Add All" could add all engines in the group to the tourney participants! (As the participants list is a normal text edit, you then still have the possibility to delete the few that you did not want.)
This could be useful for people that often use a group of engines together. E.g. I could put the usual gauntlet opponents for my own engine in one group. |
