Hi Richard,

found seven other comparable games in my SWCR databases / test games.
So, you can improve your engine with 0,49 ELO (if resign = off in the interface).

:-)

The default value is "Only At Root", which means it will not probe tablebases during search.

Hi Richard,
as the setting "only at root" is default - I made all games with that setting!

But I think, this gives no differences we can measure in Elo (+- 20). Even without gtb we will not see much differences.
What do you think? Will you change default next version?

PS: verion 0.80 surprises me
http://cegt.foren-city.de/topic,447,-co ... -0-80.html
PPS: Just compared a 6men endgame with both settings under Shredder GUI - I saw no differences in the output?
4k3/4pp2/8/8/8/8/4N3/4KB2 w - -

Thanks for the engine!

So, you can improve your engine with 0,49 ELO (if resign = off in the interface).

Hi Frank,

I have found the bug. It was in the KBBKN evaluation, which always returned 0.00. Therefore the engine thought that giving up its knight is OK and makes no difference. This bug is present in both 0.70 and 0.80 versions.

Thank You for the bug report.

How to get a 64 bit linux binary?

Hi,

unfortunately I am stuck with the Microsoft compiler for now, my code does not compile with GCC due to problems with C++ templates. So there will be no linux binaries in the near future.

Richard

Edit: Last time I checked, win32 binaries worked fine with WINE, but I don't know about 64bit.

Richard,

Do you have the possibility to compile a POPCNT binary for us with Core i7?

Best Regards,
Martin

Have you taken a look at the Intel C++ compiler for Linux? The Linux version is free, for non-commercial use.
