I think I found a bug in chessGUI 0.168. I was trying to run a test set on an engine that had a communication problem, and started getting messages about engine refusing to die. I soon had several copies running and my system was almost hung. Two suggestions: If an engine will not exit, kill it forcibly and add an option to run engines with a priority below normal.
- if a pgn start position is only 1 ply long (e.g. 1.Nc3 [Noomen 48]), ChessGUI disqualifies the black engine from ever using GUI book or pgn start positions.
Till next ChessGUI update, manually tell ChessGUI again in engine installation window that engine can use GUI book.
