OctoChess source code rev 7482

Post by Norbert Raimund Leisner »

Hello ,

is anybody of you able to build Windows 32/64 bit binaries of the source code please?

https://svn.filezilla-project.org/svn/chess/

Best wishes,
Norbert

Here it is a 64 bits one:
http://www.andscacs.com/octochess/octochess.zip
The engine is not prepared for 32 bits.

Great news!
I added it on my ToDo list.
Like to see longer time not updated engines!

I believe in 10 days I have 30 updates on my ToDo list (many updates at the moment).

30x2800 = 84.000 games ... if so.
OK, OK only 11 at the moment.
Hope of more updates, more updates more fun for me!

:-)

Thanks for Octochess!!
I like this engine, for 2.640 Elo a really very interesting playing style and 200 Elo stronger as Ruffian. Clear ... because no big weaknesses in Octo playing style and for that reason ... can make points vs. clearly stronger opponents ... runs around 5.000 games without any problems here!

Best
Frank

Thanks Daniel.
Also thanks to Norbert. Another release that I was unaware of.

It is not a release. On the Octochess site the latest version is r5190.
Okay. Thanks.

Do we know if the old Octochess site is still being updated? Maybe the author is just using github (or filezilla/whatever) now.

Indeed, I wouldn't test it without further clarification.

Hi Daniel,

Could you compile a 64 bit version for no popcnt machines?
(Danns later compiles also don't run here)

The last one which runs here is from the outdated website and was created
in 2013 :(

Current repository is now at R7847

Hi Günther,

Dann checked the sources for 6 days. No changes to see, so no reason to test an other version. Latest version I have in my list is the same as the current version. It seems that rx numbers have nothing to do with the version number.

After all I understand!

Hi Frank,

1. There is a huge problem with the svn site of OctoChess. It does not show timestamps, which is quite unsual!

2. I am not sure if you understood my post. I simply have NO working version except R5190, which was from 2013/08.

Edit:

(The SVN repository probably counts each change in that directory,
but without timestamp a diff is necessary to see what was changed and if
it concerns the program itself...)
