Most people played from one of their home machines.

In case of Rookie:
AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz, using 8 cores, 8GB hash, 6pc Syzygy, Linux

Thanks,

Nightmare also did very well. I think it was leading until this loss to Goldbar in round 4:

Nightmare played on my core i7 3960X, 6 cores at 4.2 gHz. using Intel C++.
Goldbar from Bart Goldhoorn played remotely on one of my spare computers, core i7 980X, 6 cores at 4.0 gHz. using Free Pascal.

Goldbar is more or less a Pascal fork of an old Nightmare version from several years ago maintained by Bart Goldhoorn. Since it shares a lot of idea's with Nightmare, somehow Nightmare always has difficulties playing Goldbar.

You always need a little bit of luck in these tournaments.
