Chess King and Peshk@ with external WB/UCI engines

Hello together,

Convekta Ltd´s answer to my request whether external WinBoard/UCI engines could be embedded into these GUIs.

(by the current state of scientific knowledge)

1) UCI engines may be used in Chess King. For default here set Houdini UCI.

And one may change this engine to other UCI engine. No way to use simultaneously several UCI engines in Chess King

2) But changing engine is operation for very advanced users. One need to edit some file (in interface no dialogue for adding other UCI engine)

And we indeed don't describe this ability in Help and manual


3) The same and with using Winboard engines in Chess King.


4) In Peshka also no dialogue in interface for adding new UCI or winboard engines.

But as in Chess king, this may be done by editing some file.

I had a quick look at the first entry in the table and saw two errors:

> Cannot be purchased alone, must buy Rybka respectively Houdini too

Here is the standalone ChessOK Aquarium 2012: http://chessok.com/shop/index.php?main_ ... cPath=7_43

> CDP / CBF / PGN formats cannot be opened without converting them

Aquarium can use such databases without converting them. In addition it has support for EPD databases, AHB (hypertext books) and DSN (SQL based database). The only limitation is that CBF is readonly.

Well (former) Chess Assistant and Aquarium-GUIs are available with (Deep) Rybka or Houdini - it depends whether you buy CA Starter / Pro / Mega Package.

Of course, Deep Rybka UCI and Houdini UCI are sold without interface,
so I deleted the entry "cannot be purchased alone, must buy Rybka respectively Houdini". Perhaps that leads to confusion.
And both are ChessBase products too.
