It's not there by default but you have to manually include it with the pulldown. It's weird because that is all most post in is PGN. I use Deep Fritz 13 mostly.

I agree - it is a pain that pgn isn't included in the default selection.

The information they provide and store native bases Chessbase is a hundred times that can store a pgn.
Still if associated to chessbase pgn extension opens by default.
And it costs a lot when you want a new base with the mouse flag as pgn.
You really this is a problem?

I know about the storage advantage but when you are (IN) CB GUI u cannot by default open up a PGN file, u have to manually choose this option. I know about the association but this does not help us when we are in Fritz.velmarin wrote:The information they provide and store native bases Chessbase is a hundred times that can store a pgn.

Fritz is a program of play, learning, ect.
Not a database.
To my mind this is not a problem, two clicks with the mouse and fixed.
What annoys me is that it does not process archives .EPD
or if you want to test suite with engines must be in CBF format,
but the information it provides is unmatched.

Not a database? This is part of the program as a whole but it is a vital component of the program.velmarin wrote:Fritz is a program of play, learning, ect.

Which is probably why they shun other useful formats and stick with their own.

The Database in the Fritz GUI is limited in function and performance, but it does what it needs to in most cases.reflectionofpower wrote:Not a database? This is part of the program as a whole but it is a vital component of the program.velmarin wrote:Fritz is a program of play, learning, ect.

I never use the Fritz GUI database, I always use Chess Base 12 64 bit when doing database functions because it is a fully functioning database program.

CB 12 does the same thing as we complained about in Fritz GUI and it's a specialized DB.mwyoung wrote:The Database in the Fritz GUI is limited in function and performance, but it does what it needs to in most cases.reflectionofpower wrote:Not a database?
