Arasan - minor quibble

Post by kliles »

I have been using Arasan for years as a lightweight chess viewer and for playing training games (and think it is brilliant) but one thing has always struck me as odd: when launched, Arasan immediately starts White's clock! There is no time to set options (like level etc) or make other interface changes. I suggest not starting White's clock until White moves!

Of course, I realize I can set options etc. and then reset the clock, but that seems counter-intuitive to me.

BY default the clock counts up, not down, so you are not actually running out of time while it is running. If you have set it to use a time control, then it will count down. If you have made no moves you can reset it using the New Game command on the file menu or by typing Control-N.
