Wow Graham that's amazing! :D
Do you think I could add this to the zip file? (and give you credit?)
Martin - it's just a free image from the net that I've used "Paint" on to make a logo. I'm not a wonderfully creative graphic artist like some of our other members who make logos. You're welcome to use it in your package (for as long as your engine remains free), but it would be nice to include the logos of others too for choice. :)

Cheers,
Graham.
Thanks Graham. It doesn't matter whether it's just a free image, any logo is better than none. And I like it. And yes, the engine remains free.

Time usage

Post by Graham Banks »

Hi Martin,

have you implemented correct time usage yet? Cheng seems to move fairly quickly with each move, despite being given a reasonably long repeating time control of x moves in y minutes.

Cheers,
Graham.

Hi Graham,

Well the time usage is insane (as I write in the readme;)
It doesn't even consider movestogo. In fact, it tries to adapt to the opponent.
I know this is a hack but last time I tried to come up with something better it was actually worse (started losing on time).
So if you or someone else have an idea (a time management formula) I can give it a try. I even think of adding an UCI option that would parse a formula as string value...

Martin

Ok here's a hotfix for time management. I hope it works.
"old" time management still available as UCI option

A great engine with a promising potential.....
After a quick set of games facing particular opponents in my private rating list,I'd say it plays around 2400 Elo....
