Simplex 0.9.7 release.

Post by Antonio Torrecillas »

Simplex 0.9.7
A new release of Simplex is available at https://sites.google.com/site/barajando ... s/download
The package include the windows 32 bits binary and (once again) delivered with sources. (Despite the green color on the CCRL list.;-) )

the changes are focused on the evaluation and a new cache management
The search is now less aggressive to ease debug.
- Added cache command in the uci protocol.
+ option name Hash type spin default 32 min 4 max 8192
+ option name Clear Hash type button

Let me know of any issue, bug, feature you need. I'll fix this as soon as possible.

From my testing I expect a +100 elo improve.(if S097 don't fight against Sungorus 1.x)
this is with 20 engine, Silver suite, 50 games each color -> 2000 games

command like:
cutechess-cli ... -pgnin suite.pgn -both tc=40/6 -repeat -games 100 -concurrency 1

Engine list:
Alex2.12a, Alichess 4.21, Sungorus 1.4. Sungorus 1.3
Fruit 2.1. Simplex 0.9.3, Simplex 0.9.6. Dirty Acca4
RedQueen 0.8, Danasah 4.45, Gaviota 0.75.7, Nanoszachy 3.8
Eeyore 1.52, Lime v66, Xpdnt 091007. GreKo 7.2., Baron 2.23
Alfil 8.11, Ufim 8.02, Rodin 3.0

result for S097 +820-920=236

On STS test suite:

STS1.epd 64-36
STS2.epd 60-40
STS3.epd 58-42
STS4.epd 62-38
STS5.epd 71-29
STS6.epd 65-35
STS7.epd 58-42
STS8.epd 30-70
STS9.epd 42-58
STS10.epd 69-31
STS11.epd 42-58
STS12.epd 55-45
STS13.epd 58-42
Total 734

Have fun. Antonio.

Thanks Antonio for the new version.
I'll point out the error on our list to Ray so that he can correct it.

Cheers,
Graham.
