Engine recommendation for highly tactical pawnless endgame

Post by afzzq »

What's a good engine to analyze a complex pawnless highly tactical 8 or 9-piece endgame? Stockfish is no help because it does not support tablebases. But positional considerations are basically irrelevant, I just need very fast tactics and very efficient lookup of tablebase values.

I would be interested in seeing some positions of this kind.

Have you tried Rybka WinFinder?

That sounds like what I want but I haven't seen any link to it for years. Not clear if it would be optimized for modern machines and tablebases either.

Thanks. I tried the engine, but I don't see a configuration file with UCI engine. How do I set it to use tablebases (you need tablebases with these positions).

What GUI are you using? Aka: Fritz, Arena, Aquarium, etc ...
