Hi,
as I wrote in a different thread,this awesome program is now being calibrated in my rating list playing 32 programs at long time control 40 minutes + 40 seconds....
I will post games in this thread....
First opponent is Aice 0.99.2 :!:

Hi,
Well,till now it plays in a lower division,but it happens that Chess Tiger 2007 Gambit is in this division :D

the problem with CSTAL is that it stopped development 1999.

the code used is from this time.


it would need a little new state of the art technology.

chris tried (the last things he did) to bring the search into bitboards.
there was a stable engine, that was much faster, but not all evaluation algos were transferred. it was shortly before a release, and THEN he sold the company for much money to purple software. and purple went bancrott.
so the development stopped and CSTAL is in a grave.

Never the less,I want to see how it compares to the nowadays engines :D

looks like CSTAL was outsearched while attacking. but the attack looked good IMO. :-)

CSTAL needs more search depth :-)

Note that it's playing on my dual core laptop,

HP Pavilion dv9000t series,Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T7200 [2.0GHz/4MB L2Cache],1GB DDR2 System Memory [2 Dimm]

It's using 128 Mb hash table and 32 Mb for pawn hash....
