Interesting! Do you have a pgn of the games or are they also being relayed on ICC/Playchess? It would be interesting to play through the games and see what our engines say.

Hi, here are the games. However, please have in mind that Axon/Achilles still uses its proprietary pgn format. The first game was a win for Achilles and the second ended in a draw. Current score 1.5-0.5 for Achilles.

Hi Tony,

it appears to me that Achilles is second only to Rybka at this moment.

Really? Based on what?
Any tests available? Any details about this engine?
I mean in what hardware it was running, when it was designed etc....
After his son's birth they've asked him:
"Is it a boy or girl?"
YES! He replied.....

Pure speculation.....

Hi George,

the hardware is mentioned in one of the posts above: a PC cluster etc. I can't go into details here (lack of time, sorry), but am attaching a couple of interesting games played on Playchess (I know that the second game was against Rybka running on a quad). I think that you can get more information on the development of Axon (single processor engine) and Achilles (a multiprocessor engine) if you download a pdf from the links already mentioned in the thread.

regards.
