Hello,

Yes 2...Nf6 is the most common, but will Jimmy play it ? Wink

In this English opening, white generally choose between the following moves : Nc3, Nf3, d3,d4,e4,Bg2,Nd5,Qc2, Rb1 and b4.

Blacks choose between e5, c5, d5, e6, Nf6, Nc6, c6, Bb4, Bb7 and Bg7.

Whites need to control h1-a8 diagonal with Bg2. Blacks usually plays d5.

Guys, here are the themes you have to follow now :

Matthew and Jimmy :

- Dominate d5, then e5 & d6.
- Simultanous attack center and Queen side.

Matthew :

- Dominate h1-a8 diagonal.

Jimmy :

- Play d5 at the right time.

cheers,

Gab

I thought about ..2.Nc6 to keep my kingside options open, but this is about as standard as it gets. Probably won't see a novelty for many moves.

I had actually hoped to play 3.b3 with Bb2, e6, a6, Qc2, then O-O-O and attack on the kingside.
