Only 6 participants? That's bad :(

They should just enlist some MSc students to operate engines and let go that ridiculous requirement of programmers having to be present :)

Last year Jonny was running on a university cluster of 2300 cores, of which roughly 2280 were pure calculus :D Think the rest just bundled the outputs.

Sure, this is what I know so far:

Komodo: running on 48 cores on a 56 core server. It gets a bit over 50 millions nps on the first thinking move.

Jonny: same hardware as last year 100 x 24 cores (2400 total)

GridGinko: about 30 machines for a total of 240 cores. Air conditioning is provided by open windows in the basement the machines are in. Weather forecast is 20 degrees C during the day and 10 degrees at night. Backup is via machines on Amazon cloud machines.

Shredder is running on a 32 core machine.

I will try to find out about the other machines and post an update later. But so far pretty big hardware.

Thanks for your information.

Is Komodo going to play with Erdo's opening book again?

Small correction. Komodo is using 48 cores of a 60 core server. Early testing suggested it runs faster than using more cores.
