Re: CEGT - rating lists September 21th 2014
One point of interest I see on both the CEGT lists and the CCRL lists. On the blitz (40/4) lists, Stockfish 5 retains a slim lead over Komodo 8 regardless of the number of cores. But on the rapid (40/20 CEGT and 40/40 CCRL) lists, Komodo has a sizable lead over Stockfish 5 regardless of number of cores, and with four cores the lead in both lists is even larger than the estimated elo gains Stockfish claims since the release of SF5. So it appears that Komodo 8 scales better than SF5 to a quite significant degree. This is a bit of a (pleasant) surprise for me, because in the past I never noticed any scaling difference between SF and Komodo, although both scaled better than Houdini. Apparently something we did in Komodo 8 pays off better with more time.
Komodo rules!
