Dear Ben-Hur,

Just to make it more clear

First of all,i dont accuse anybody (i am just wondering...)

Maybe my posting will be helpful to avoid for those who wants cheating

And now about the current issue,
I am not a Chess Engine Programmer, that's why i have no much info about renaming engine names or drop/inrease the kns values and so on...

But as far as remember... its possible, but honestly i am not experienced in engine programing

Thats why its will better idea to read a such information from Chess Programer Expert

About Opening Books,
Its my area, probably more than 1000 opening books i've tested so far
And from my experience i can say that any public book very easly can be cloned

For example,
Any X person (e.g who wants to clone Perfect or Hiarcs book or others books) can import thousands of games played by various books, including also the games/lines which are played by Perfect/Hiarcs... books
I mean, without any special tuning or optimizing or without any BIG efforts,X person can create a similar/clone book

In other words,
1)How can we know 100 % sure that the registered book and the played book are 100% same books ?
*I mean for the registrations,X person can send a different book, which will based on games played by Perfect/Hiarcs books and many others books

But especially during when the tournament is active, the cheater will use directly a different stronger book, made by other Author ?

And after when the tournament is completed (just with checking several games played) can we prove that there was cheating or not ?!

For example (in case of cheating),after checking those suspicious games and if we will noticed that the lines are belonging to the both books

Note also that many books include many similarities in move lines

And after all, what will be the decision:clone or original work ?

We can't accuse anybody, due to we are not 100 % all the time with the participants

In my opinion, this mystery will be never solved

Greetings,
Sedat

Hi Sedat,

I missed the "book" part. I am sorry.
I think one couldn't determine if the book really used by the programmer is the same one that was sent to the TD. Only in the case the programmer is naive enough to send a different book that doesn't contain the lines that was played in the real book. Smile

In this matter I agree with Ferdinand, I also don't really care about what book my opponent is using.

Honestly i have different views from both of you

But its ok...never mind,i respect your opinions too

Greetings,
Sedat
