Zach Wegner wrote:One more thing.

ZCT is supposed to be GPL, I haven't even had the time to add in the license and copyright notices. So your distribution, while I guess technically legal, will be in violation of the GPL because it doesn't include source. And right now, I barely have time to read all of these posts, let alone fix all of the bugs and put in a license.

This is why I wanted to wait to release it...
I'm sure that Jim will honour your request once he reads this.
I'll wait for your official release and hope others will too.

Regards, Graham.

I can explain the ZCT book problem, the book included is so small it only replys to d2-d4...For all the other openings ZCT plays by itself.

Yes, it looks like it was made with settings such that only a few sparse positions have moves in them. It doesn't even have a book move for the opening position...

I intend to have some nicer book editing facilities sometime soon so that the expert book makers can crack out something nice. ;)

I've decided to remove the download from my site for now. A windows build
wasn't ready for general release.
Sorry for causing so many problems for Zach. My over-enthusiasm get's the better of me sometimes.

Do implement native polyglot books support like in fruit-derived engines.
Polyglot has by far the best heuristics for building efficient opening books.

Uses its book kind of randomly.
Were you using UCI or Xboard? Also, where did the book come from? There wasn't one on my SF page, so I guess you or someone made it?

Using winboard 4.26. The book was included in the download from Ablett's site.

i tried the smp version with mp 2 on my dual2core in console.
one of the threads seems to be running full time always/nonstop,a bit like that crafty bug.

And another thing, SMP support probably won't work properly on any platform, I've been in the middle of some rather big changes there...
This will be fixed at some point...
